Hello! I’m Emillie Rose, an author, illustrator, and graphic designer residing in Adelaide, Australia. I work largely under my pseudonym, Eklie Rose, which combines both my name and the eclectic nature of my work (ultimately, the ‘K’ instead of the ‘C’ just sounded better).

My work is a celebration of imagination, joy, and nostalgia, blending childlike art with storytelling elements. I draw inspiration from the boldness of childhood, when creativity knew no limits and every color, line, and shape was made with complete freedom. Through bold mark-making, one could tell a story, evoke an emotion, or express themselves without judgment or restraint.

Through my graphic design, illustration, and writing, I aim to capture that same sense of joy, innocence, and nostalgia, inviting my audience to reconnect with those carefree moments—to reconnect with their inner child, regardless of age.

In my illustrations, I embrace the whimsical, dreamlike quality of youthful art, using bold colors and endearing characters to evoke emotion. I love creating pieces that feel familiar yet fresh, like stepping into a world that is both comforting and full of possibility. There’s something magical about the raw, unfiltered creativity of childhood that I try to bring into every piece I make.

As both an illustrator and author, I weave stories that complement my artwork, building immersive worlds where fantasy and reality blend seamlessly. I want my work to do more than just catch the eye—I want it to stir emotions, spark memories, and remind people of the joy and wonder that comes with art. For me, creating is about embracing that childlike energy, and through my art, I hope to share a little piece of that magic with others.
